No More Bumps During This Ride
What is Keratosis Pilaris?
Keratosis pilaris or “chicken skin” is a common skin condition that causes patches of rough-feeling bumps to appear on the skin. These tiny bumps or pimples are dead skin cells plugging hair follicles. These bumps sometimes appear red or brown in colour.
Chicken skin is commonly found on the upper arms, thighs, cheeks, or buttocks.
Keratosis pilaris affects one in three people in the UK. Can affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
Most common in: children and adolescents, females, those who suffer or have suffered from eczema.
The condition often improves post-puberty and may even disappear in adulthood.
Enamour can help treat Keratosis Pilaris using laser hair removal (LHR) with or without OBAGIskin care products.
LHR works by emitting a wavelength of light which targets the pigment of the hair follicle, destroying it. Since the hair follicles are destroyed, it can prevent the keratin from blocking up the follicle and causing the tiny bumps.
